COMMONWEALTH BOWL GOES TO HOKIES

#8 VIRGINIA TECH 33, VIRGINIA 21

UVa is good, but Virginia Tech is better.

Early on it looked like it could be a Hokie blow out, but the Wahoos settled down and made it a game thanks to two Tech turnovers. Then right before half-time the Hoos returned the favor, coughing it up twice and allowing the Hokies to retake the lead.

In the second half, every time Virginia punched, Tech counter punched. Of course, the Hokies blocked a punt and played stingy defense. UVa's Chris Long was spectacular.

It was the Hokies fourth straight win over their state rival.

UVA’s Sewell was good, but Glennon and Taylor were better combining for just a click under 300 yards passing. Glennon was money through the air, and Taylor made big plays as needed.

The Hokies will play BC on Saturday for the ACC Championship and all the Dr. Pepper they can drink.
