Each school has it’s own game day stadium traditions. The crowd at Carter-Finley likes to announce each Pack first down. After the necessary yards are gained, the P.A. announcer will say something like “Evans pass is complete to Smith for 14 yards. That’s enough for a Wolfpack…”

The assembled crowd will finish the sentence with a rousing cheer of “First Down!” The more animated in the crowd will jump up and signal said first down as well.

Following just such an exchange, our hostess (an Elon grad and UNC fan) turned to us and said of the NC State crowd (which included her grad husband), “Well, at least they can count to one.”

Ahhh, that’s sweet…
