...AND IT'S ONLY FRIDAY! Dave Wannstedt, what were you thinking? Navy and Pitt played a great game Wednesday night. One of those "Whoever has the ball last wins" high-scoring affairs.

The game went into overtime and Wannstedt's brain locked down. Both teams scored TDs on their first OT possession. Pitt held Navy to a field goal on the first possession of OT2. All Pitt has to do is score a TD to win or kick a field goal for a TIE, and another shot to win in OT3.

Fast forward ahead to 3rd and goal from the 2...Now remember, Pitt has 227 yards of rushing and their primary back, some kid named McCoy, has 165 yards. They have punted twice the entire game. They have more total yards in this game than N.C. State has so far this year.

They throw. Incomplete. So, with Pitt facing fourth-and-goal at the Navy 2, Wannstedt went for the win and freshman Pat Bostick threw too high to tight end Darrell Strong on a fade route in the end zone with Rashawn King in coverage. ...a FADE ROUTE???? You kiddin' me?

"That's our 2-point conversion play," Wannstedt explained. "We do it all the time in practice and it works perfectly. ... If I had the same situation, I would do it again." (Liar, liar Division I head coaching job on fire!)

But that's in practice, and this was in an overtime game Pitt desperately needed to win after losing to Virginia by 30 points and Connecticut by 20 in its last two games.

BTW, Navy's QB is Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada. Say that three times really fast...
